Mailbox alias properties are located in HostPilotĀ® Control Panel > Services > Mailboxes. Click the user's display name, then click the user's email address.

Aliases are multiple references to a single mailbox. They allow you to receive mail to alternate email addresses. Aliases must be at a domain associated with your Exchange account, for example, and Mail sent to the alias email address will be delivered to the mailbox of the Primary Address for the user.

Note: the original address to which an email was sent can be found:

Note: headers of messages sent to POP/IMAP mailboxes show the alias the message was sent to in X-Original-To line and the primary email address in Delivered-To line.

All mail sent out by the user will have the Primary Address in the From field of the message.

Note: if you need the user to be able to send from an alias, read our Knowledge Base article on How Do I Send Emails From My Alias?   for instructions.

Note: Aliases, as well as the primary addresses, must be unique for each Intermedia account. If you're trying to create a new object (or add an alias) and receiving the error Email addresses must be unique, that means such an email address is already assigned to another object.

To lookup if the email address is already being used as an alias of another object, you can use the search field:
