When your virtual server is created, it has the directory structure shown below for your server platform. Please do not delete any of the folders listed here.
- On every platform, when you connect to your site over FTP, you access your FTP (virtual) root. However, when you connect to your site over HTTP (browse), you access your web root (\htdocs). As a security measure, anything above \htdocs (or on the same level) is not visible from a browser.
- Your web root (\htdocs) is also an application root (approot) for your site.
- The content of your site must be located under the /htdocs directory . You can create any number of sub-directories under /htdocs for additional HTML documents, scripts, images, and so on. Remember, the browsable content of your pages must be in the /htdocs directory, or in any sub-directory under /htdocs.
