This article specifies the propagation time for different changes you can make in HostPilotĀ® Control Panel.

Account Contacts

  • Add new Account Contact: new Account Contact should be able to login to HostPilot within 10 minutes.

Users

  • Add new user: It can take up to 10 minutes for this user to appear in Global Address List. Read the Knowledge Base article on What is the Global Address List (GAL)? for more information.

    Note: The Offline Address Book in Outlook client is updated once a day, so the user will appear in OAB after the update only. Read the Knowledge Base article on Offline Address Book (OAB) for more information.
  • Reset password: User should be able to login to OWA immediately.

Exchange & Resource mailboxes

  • Mailbox limits changes: It takes from 15 minutes up to 30 minutes for the changes to propagate. In some cases, it could take up to 2 hours.
  • Full Access permissions: Outlook automatically loads all mailboxes to which the user has full access after 10-15 minutes of propagation time.

Distribution Lists (DL)

  • Add new DL: It can take up to 10 minutes for this DL to appear in Global Address List. Read the Knowledge Base article on What is the Global Address List (GAL)? for more information.

    Note: The Offline Address Book in Outlook client is updated once a day, so the user will appear in OAB after the update only. Read the Knowledge Base article on Offline Address Book (OAB) for more information.
  • Add members: New members of the DL should start receiving messages, that are sent to the DL, immediately after they are added.
  • Send As permissions: After the permissions are granted in the HostPilot, it can take up to 2 hours to propagate the changes.

Public Folders

  • Storage update: It can take up to 30 minutes to propagate on the server after the changes are made in HostPilot.
  • Permissions for top level Public Folder: It can take up to 15 minutes to propagate.
  • Permissions for top level Public Folders together with resetting permissions for Subfolders: It can take up to 2 hours to propagate depending on the complexity of folder structure and the number of folders.

Storage Management

  • Additional disk space for your account: space usage for the whole account is calculated once a day, so if you purchased additional disc space it will be updated in HostPilot within 24 hours. 
    Note: The additional disk space will be purchased automatically for the account within the next 5 days after you exceeded the disk space (unless you do this manually or clean up the disk space).

SecuriSync

  • If a user changes the email address (UPN), it will take up to 24 hours to propagate changes in the SecuriSync database. During that time user will not be able to login to the SecuriSync Web client.

SharePoint

  • Add new user: user should be able to login to the SharePoint site within 10 minutes after the service is enabled in HostPilot.

    Note:
    The user should be also added to the access list in the SharePoint site after the service is enabled. Read the Knowledge Base article on How do I create users for the SharePoint 2010 site associated with my Exchange account? for more information.
  • Upgrade Sharepoint (storage package): This change takes effect immediately.

Encryption Services

  • Policy-Based Encryption: After it is enabled in HostPilot, it can take up to 15 minutes for the messages to start going through the encrypted mail gateway.
  • User Level Encryption: After it is enabled in HostPilot it can take up to 10 minutes to propagate. After that user will have an option to encrypt messages in Outlook client. Restart Outlook if the option is not there within 10 minutes.

Other Services

  • Services like Skype for Business/Lync Secure Chat And Conferencing, SecuriSync, PC Backup, etc. can take up to 15 minutes to propagate.
