Important: Outlook Plugin is available for Windows only.

SecuriSync Outlook plugin allows you to replace message attachments with web links pointing to files in SecuriSync.

Enabling Outlook plugin

To enable Outlook Plugin, right-click on SecuriSync icon that can be found in System Tray > Settings > tick the Enable Microsoft Outlook plugin box.

Using Outlook plugin

  1. SecuriSync Desktop client must be running.
  2. When composing a message, click the SecuriSync icon located on the ribbon and choose Select Files.
  3. Choose a file from your desktop.
  4. SecuriSync automatically uploads the file you selected to the server and replaces it with a link.
  5. When recipients click on a file, files will be immediately downloaded from the SecuriSync Web App.

Configuring Outlook plugin

  1. In Outlook click on the SecuriSync icon located on the ribbon to open Settings.
  2. Here you can adjust such settings as the automatic file replacement, password protection and notification prompt.

Note: it is recommended to have only one Outlook profile configured for a certain mailbox. Otherwise, Outlook plugin could insert local links instead of SecuriSync web-links into an e-mail.

SecuriSync Outlook plugin localization

SecuriSync Outlook plugin localization can be displayed in the language of the end-user depending on MS Office locale.

If default locale of MS Office is set to English (US), English (UK), German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese or French translated verbiages are displayed, date format is aligned to particular culture. We use particular list of regions to adjust date formatting: en-US, en-GB, de-DE, it-IT, nl-NL, es-LA, ja-JP, fr-CA. For all other regions we fall back to the one listed.


  • If locale  is detected and supported by Outlook plugin, translated verbiages will be displayed.
  • If locale is detected but not supported or not detected, default verbiages in English will be displayed.
