How to change MAC address of the phone

To change MAC address go to Voice Services Devices > click on device > under General tab enter new information in the MAC address field > Save changes.

Note: you will need to provision the new phone.

How to change the phone model

To change phone model you need to add a new device and assign it to the user. Then cancel the previous device or re-assign it to another user if needed. 

How to re-assign the device to a different user

Go to Voice Services > Devices > click on device > under Settings click on Change user & edit 911 location

In the new window:

  • Select new user's name from the drop-down
  • Check I have read and understood the 911 Policy and limitations
  • Click Assign user

How to access web interface of the phone

  1. Under Web interface tab click on Get credentials link to obtain Login and Password.

  2. Obtain the phone's IP address by pressing buttons on the phone:
    Cisco phones: press the Settings button (this button looks like a piece of paper with a folded corner) > Network > Current IP.
    Yealink desk phones: Menu > Status > check IPv4
    Polycom IP series: Menu > Status > Network > TCP/IP Parameters
    Polycom VVX series: Home > Settings > Status > Network > TCP/IP Parameters

  3. In your web browser in the Address field put the IP address of the phone and Go.

Note: please be advised that the custom credentials will enable advanced configuration of your devices. Modifications made to some fields may leave the device in an inoperable state. Please do not make any changes that you are not fully aware of.

All changes you made with the Device control panel could be reset. All HostPilot settings would be saved in this case and the device will be rebooted. If you want to revert changes back check 'I want to reset all settings I made with Device control panel'.

Copy settings from another device

Note: Settings can be copied from a device of the same make and model only.

To copy the settings go to Voice Services Devices, click on the device. Under General tab > Copy settings from another device. Then specify the settings that should be copied, select the device to copy the settings from, hit Copy settings > Confirm



Share settings with other devices

Note: settings can be shared with a device of the same make and model only.

To share the settings go to Voice Services Devices, click on device. Under General tab > Share Settings to other devices. Then specify the settings that should be shared, select the device(s) to share the settings with, hit Copy settings > Confirm




Q: What settings are allowed to copy/share?

A: Line keys, Audio codec priority, Phone display, Custom settings.

Note: First line key (Line 1) is never copied. Settings are copied as they are: for example if there was a line key made to access the User's A voicemail, all the devices for which settings were copied will have a line key with access to the voicemail of User A.

Expansion module settings cannot be copied so far. 

Q: What devices do have the options to copy/share settings?

A: All supported devices with a user assigned can copy/share settings. The phone should be purchased from Intermedia or should be configured as Enhanced BYOP. 

Note: the following devices do not have copy/share options:

  • ATA-devices (Fax adapters)
  • Cordless bases and handsets (Yealink W52P/H, W56H, W60B, etc.)
  • Unsupported devices
  • Devices without a user assigned

Q: What are Custom settings?

A: Custom settings are custom parameters that have been set for the device(s) via Support requests or manually via the phone configuration:

  • Screensaver Timeout
  • BLF Audio/Visual Notifications
  • VLAN tags and priorities
  • Call Waiting Tones
  • Custom forwarding
  • Ringtones
  • Corporate Directory, etc.

Q: Is it allowed to copy/share settings between different device models?

A: No.

Q: For how many devices at once it is possible to share settings?

A: 10.

Q: Will expansion module settings be copied between different devices?

A: Not at this time.
