This article applies to Web Hosting and Custom Email accounts only.

This article provides mail client settings to be used to connect to a POP/IMAP mail server.

You can refer to the Knowledge Base articles on configuring Outlook, Mac Mail and also iOS, Android and Blackberry devices for detailed instructions for particular mail clients.

Username and password

Username is the full mailbox address (mailbox aliases cannot be used, but domain aliases can); password is the mailbox password.

Incoming and outgoing servers names

Incoming and outgoing mail servers names are the same and can be found in HostPilotĀ® Control Panel at Mail Server > Mail Server Settings.


Ports to be used for an encrypted (SSL) connection (recommended):

  • Incoming mail: 995 for POP / 993 for IMAP
  • Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465 or 587

Ports to be used for a encrypted (TLS) connection:

  • Incoming mail: 110 for POP / 143 for IMAP
  • Outgoing mail (SMTP): 1025 (recommended) or 25

Both incoming and outgoing mail servers authentication/sign-in should be enabled if such setting is present
