This article explains the functionality of Two-Factor Authentication that can be enabled by the Encrypted Messages recipients.

Enabling 2FA

To enable 2FA login to the Message Pickup Center and navigate to Settings > Security Options. On the next page, click on More Options > 2-Step Verification > Register.

You will be presented with instructions on how to install and register an authenticator application on your Android or iOS device. The application will generate a code that needs to be entered at the bottom of the page along with your current password.

After the Two-Factor Authentication enabling is completed, you will see an option to Switch Device and Disable the feature in the Message Pickup Center. You will also receive an email confirmation.

Recovering 2FA

If a device with 2FA authenticator application was lost or stolen, an account administrator can disable TOTP (2FA) in the EMG portal: In HostPilotĀ® Control Panel, navigate to Services > Compliance > Email Encryption > Encrypted mail gateway. In the EMG portal click on Credentials, use the search field to find the user in question, and then click on Disable TOTP.
