To find out how to set up your domain, choose the appropriate scenario below.

I have already added the domain to one of the accounts (Exchange or Web Hosting/Custom Email) and need to add it to the second one

In this case, contact Intermedia Technical Support for assistance. They can add the domain in the proper order to make both services work correctly. In your request, mention if you need POP3/IMAP-only mailboxes on your web account as an addition to your Exchange mailboxes (in this case, a domain split needs to be configured for the accounts at the final step), or if you plan to use a secure certificate for your website. You may also need to include the information that verifies your identity. Read the Knowledge Base article What is a split domain (Exchange)? for more information on a domain split.

My domain has not been added to any accounts

You may add it first to your web hosting account, then contact Intermedia Technical Support to add it to your Exchange account and perform the required modification to the domain records. In your request, mention if you need POP3/IMAP-only mailboxes on your web account as an addition to your Exchange mailboxes (in this case, a domain split needs to be configured for the accounts at the final step), or if you plan to use a secure certificate for your web site. You may also need to include the information that verifies your identity. Read the Knowledge Base article What is a split domain (Exchange)? for more information on a domain split.

I do not need an SSL certificate on my web account, do not plan to send mail from my website scripts, and do not want to use the POP3/IMAP-only mailboxes that are included in my web hosting plan

In this case, there is no need for you to add the domain to your web account. Simply add it to your Exchange account. In your Exchange HostPilot, you need to create the corresponding 'A' records for your website. You can find the IP address of your web server in Web HostPilotĀ® Control Panel > Web/FTP Server > Web Server > Server Information (for Windows platform web hosting accounts). By default, when a domain is added to a web account, we create 'A' records for domain.com, www.domain.com.
Note: If you have a Windows 2008/IIS7 web account, you may need to contact Intermedia Technical Support to create the corresponding bindings for your domain in the web server configuration. Read the Knowledge Base article What is a binding in Windows 2008/IIS7? for more information.
