When you create an account with us, even if you do not add your domain name to the account, we create a default domain in our system called accountname.hostpilot.com, where accountname is your account name.

All DNS records for this domain are automatically created on our DNS servers. You can use this domain as you wish:

  • For testing purposes, when you do not have your own domain registered yet.
  • During your own domain transfer (when your DNS records propagate), you set forwarding for mailboxes on your old mail server to resend mail to the mailboxname@accountname.hostpilot.com address.

The accountname.hostpilot.com domain can be accessed in HostPilot. Navigate to Services > Domains

If you already own a domain name purchased through a registrar, read the Knowledge Base article on How do I start receiving email on Exchange with my own domain name? for instructions on setting this up.
