Unable To Download Offline Address Book In Outlook 2007/2010/2013

Problem:

Your account is hosted on the Exchange 2007, Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2013 server and you are getting the following error message when attempting to perform synchronization in Outlook 2007/2010/2013:

11:18:36 Not downloading Offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located

Solution:

You need to make sure that the AutoDiscovery DNS record has been created for your domain, because Outlook utilizes the AutoDiscovery service to obtain the information on where the Offline Address Book is located.

If your account is less than 24 hours old, the Exchange server will not have generated the Offline Address Book yet. The Offline Address Book is generated every morning by 5:00 AM. Please attempt to download the Offline Address Book again after the Exchange server has generated it (navigate to Tools > Send/Receive > Download Address Book).

If you receive this error running Outlook 2007 configured for an Exchange 2007 mailbox, verify that you have an Autodiscover record created for your domain name. Read the Knowledge Base article on What Is An Autodiscover Record And Why Do I Need It? for more information.

If your account is older than 24 hours, you are on an Exchange 2007 server and have created an Autodiscover record, contact Support.
