Important: Please make sure your IP Phone has the most up to date firmware installed. If needed, contact your phone vendor for assistance.

In order to start using the service, you would need to set up an IP phone for each user and connect it to the Internet, then configure it to connect to the server. To configure the phone, kindly follow the instructions below:

To find IP phone setup instructions, first, go to HostPilot > Services > Hosted PBX


Select Manage Users and click on the display name of the user.

While in the Hosted PBX tab, click Phone Setup Wizard, and select the type of phone you are using to view personalized instructions for that phone.


Here you can select the user and the phone device for configuration:


Dropdown for each device type will have extensive instructions for phone configuration via Web User Interface, prefilled with the required information for the User who we set the device up for:

  • Device ID / Authentication ID 
  • Password
  • Server Address (e.g. hpbx01*, where * would be your server number)

Fields, that should be filled with the information above are outlined in the dropdowns for IP Phone setup.

Note: Each user can have up to 8 phones configured. The Device ID and password can only be used for one phone's configuration. If you use the same settings to set up a second phone device, this will result in dropped calls, dead air or other call quality issues. If you want to set up several phone devices, you must add additional phone devices in the user settings to generate additional sets of configuration settings.
