This article is a desription of SmartNumber Extension Types and Functions.

You will need to add main telephone numbers to which your account is frequently directed to : login to your SmartNumber at https://www.intermedia.net/login/voice/> Preferences>Stored Numbers.

In order to create an extension navigate to Call Manager> Create Extension> You may want to use the Recommended Extension types section>Choose the Extension Type from the list> Create.

Sequential Ringing

Depending on the number of phones you have this Extension ringing, calls will be directed to your first designated number, and if you are unable to answer, calls will be sent to the other numbers in sequence. If you are unable to answer any of the phones, your callers will be directed to Voicemail where they may leave you a message.

Example Call Flow:
You will need to select up to 10 phone numbers you want to ring sequentially. Then select the number of rings before your call is answered. If none of these phones are answered, the caller is sent to your Voicemail.

Simultaneous Ringing

Your account will attempt to locate you simultaneously at up to five locations you designate. You may then choose what you wish to do with the call from the call handling menu. If you hang up the phone without selecting a call handling option, a caller will be directed to Voicemail.

You will need to select up to 5 phone numbers you want to ring simultaneously. Then select the number of rings before your call is answered. If none of these phones are answered, the caller is sent to your Voicemail.

Calls will be directed to your office and if you are unable to answer, they will be then directed to your cellular phone, and if you are unable to answer, your callers will be directed to Voicemail where they may leave you a message.

Greeting:
After your recorded greeting, your callers will hear: "We're connecting your call to your party's office". If you are unable to answer, your callers will hear: "We're connecting your call to your party's cell phone". If you are unable to answer that phone, your callers will hear: "Your party is unavailable at this time. However, we will connect you to your party's message center where you may leave a voicemail".

Simple Forwarding Without Voicings

Calls will be directed to your home, and if you are unable to answer,they will be then directed to your cellular phone, and if you are unable to answer, your callers will be directed to Voicemail where they may leave you a message.

Greeting:
After your recording greeting, your callers will hear your account rings your home. If that phone is unanswered, your account will ring your cell phone. And, if you are unable to answer that phone, your callers will hear: "Your party is unavailable at this time. However, we will connect you to your party's message center where you may leave a voicemail."

Forwarding With Pager

Calls will be directed to your office, and if you are unable to answer, they will be then directed to your pager where callers will have the option to page you to a phone and connect. If you are unable to answer, your callers will be directed to Voicemail where they may leave you a message.

After your recorded greeting, your callers will hear: "We're connecting your call to your party's office". If you are unable to answer, your callers will hear: "We have notified your party that you are holding." If you are unable to, or choose not to pick up the call, your callers will hear: "I'm sorry. It appears your party can't pick up the line at this time. We are connecting you to your party's message center. Please hold."

Screening

Your calls will be routed to your Cellular using Voice Screening. If you are unable to answer, callers will be directed to your Voicemail where they may leave a message.

Greeting:
After your recorded greeting, your callers will hear: "At the tone, please state your name." Then, your account will ring your cell phone. Once you answer, you will hear the callers  name followed by these choices:

  • To accept the call, touch 1.
  • To send the caller to your Voicemail, touch 2.
  • To send the caller away, touch 3.
  • To listen to the caller's message again, touch 4.
  • To transfer the call to another phone number, touch 6.
  • To tell the caller to never call back, touch 7.

If you are unable to answer the call, your caller will hear: "I'm sorry. It appears that your party can't pick up the line at this time. We are connecting you to your party's message center. Please hold."
