Public Folder data can be migrated through Outlook email client. The following instructions apply to Outlook 2010/2013/2016/2019.
- Public Folder data from your old Exchange mailbox should be exported into a .PST file. To do that you need to have Outlook connected to your old Exchange server with appropriate permissions for the Public Folder you are going to migrate. The Public Folder in question should be selected in the tree when Outlook asks for the folder to export from. Read the Knowledge Base article on How To Export Data In Outlook for more information.
- Open the .PST file in Outlook profile for Intermedia mailbox: Outlook > File > Export & Open > Outlook Data File
- Once done you will see the file listed in Outlook folder tree. Please expand it and select the folder in question:
Note: If you don't see it make sure that folder view is enabled:
- Select all items from the .PST file (simultaneously hold CTRL and A), drag and drop them to the Public Folder. You may also copy and paste them if you like.
Note: If the .PST file includes complicated folder structure you may upload it to Outlook Backup via FTP and ask Intermedia support team to import it into Public Folder from server side. Read the Knowledge Base articles on Overview Of Outlook Backup and How Do I Use FileZilla To Upload Or Download Multiple PST Files? for more information. Please do not import the file directly with Outlook import tool as it may cause permissions issues.
