This feature availability depends on your plan.

It is possible to restrict who can send emails to a Distribution List. For example, if you need a Distribution List for internal use only, you can block external senders from sending to that list.

In order to set or override delivery restrictions on a Distribution List, navigate to HostPilotĀ® Control Panel > Services > Distribution Lists. Then click on the Distribution List name and choose Delivery restrictions.
Delivery Restrictions

You would be prompted to choose several options of Restriction Policy, such as:

Accept from everyone

All senders are allowed to send to that Distribution List. It is a default setting.

Accept All

Accept emails from everyone, except

Senders that need to be blocked from sending to the Distribution List can be specified.

Accept All Except
In order to add a sender to Exceptions List:

  1. Find the user in the Address Book

    Select from Address Book
    • for an internal user, select the user from the list;
    1. Click Save Changes to set restrictions

Reject emails from everyone, except (at least one exception is required)

No one, except users in the Exception List, can send to the Distribution List. The same as for the Accept emails from everyone, except option, the user in the Exception List must be a Company Contact.
    Reject All Except

Apply settings below for internal senders only

When Apply settings below for internal senders only box is checked, external senders are blocked from sending to the distribution list. Company Contacts and POP/IMAP mailboxes will be excluded as well. With that option selected, internal users (users on the account) can be blocked from sending to the distribution list.

    Internal Only

    • Accept from everyone - all mail from all internal senders will be accepted
    • Accept emails from everyone, except - internal senders that need to be blocked from sending to the Distribution List can be specified
    • Reject emails from everyone, except - no internal sender, except users in the Exception List, can send to the Distribution List

Note: blocked senders will receive a non-delivery report stating that the message was not delivered due to a permission or security issue (or that the address is restricted).
