This article applies to Custom Email and Web Hosting accounts only.

To configure a device with Android OS to connect to POP/IMAP mailbox use the following instructions:
Important: We strongly recommend to use the IMAP protocol instead of POP protocol as POP protocol is considered to be outdated and can cause the performance issues for your mailbox. 

  1. Choose the default mail application from the list of applications.



  2. Type in the email address and password of your POP/IMAP mailbox.



  3. Choose POP or IMAP.



  4. Type in the server settings:

    Username: Your Email address.
    Password: Mailbox password.
    POP or IMAP server: to find out the correct setting navigate to HostPilotĀ® Control Panel > Mail Server > Mail Server Settings > General Information > Mail Server Name.
    Port: 995 for POP or 993 for IMAP.
    Security Type: SSL (Accept All Certificates).

     

  5. Type in the SMTP server settings:

    Require sign-in should be checked.
    Username: Email address.
    Password: Mailbox password.
    SMTP server: to find out the correct setting navigate to HostPilotĀ® Control Panel > Mail Server > Mail Server Settings > General Information > Mail Server Name.
    Port: 465 (you can also try use port 587).
    Security Type: SSL (Accept All Certificates).



  6. Configure additional settings.



  7. Specify the profile name and display name.
