Touch 0 For Operator is an optional feature that allows a caller to escape voicemail and get routed elsewhere by pressing the 0 (zero) button. This feature can be configured for the account as a whole or for each voicemailbox (personal or Auto Attendant) one by one.

Enterprise Default Operator Number

To manage an account-wide Default Operator Number, log into HostPilotĀ® Control Panel, go to Services > SIP-T & PBX 2.0 > Additional Settings > Default Operator Number

You can configure any extension or any 10-18 digit phone number as the Default Operator number. Also, you can specify the message played to a caller to indicate that they may press 0 to react. This voice message cannot be customized.

Individual Voicemail Boxes' Operator Numbers

To manage individual voicemail box and enable/disable Touch 0 for Operator feature, go to Voice Services Login page and login with the phone number and the PIN. After that, go to Settings > Operator number. On this page you will have the option to enable Operator Number (disabled by default) and choose which number will serve as Operators.

Options are the following:

  • Touch 0 Disabled
  • Use Enterprise Default (the number that is configured for the account as a whole)
  • Extension Number
  • Enhanced Service Number
  • Custom (10-18 digit phone number)

The voicing that would accompany the Touch 0 feature cannot be changed from the Teleweb. This must be done by the admin.
