This article describes a work around for the users who want to use Click-to-call on Mac. This feature is not available on Lync 2011 for Mac at the moment. To have Click-to-call on Mac working you need to use Office Communicator 2011 for Mac instead.

To use Click-to-call feature in Office Communicator 2011 for Mac on Lync 2010 accounts you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Enable OCS calling for the user: to do this please read the Knowledge Base article on How to Set up OCS Calling (Click-to-Call)
  2. Connect Communicator 2011 for Mac to your Lync servers. To find the instructions read the Knowledge Base article on Getting Started With Communicator 2011 For Mac
  3. Make a call using Office Communicator on your computer ("click-to-call"): Click the Call button > click on Select a contact and choose the contact you want to call to.
