Known Issues:

  1. SIP ALG is enabled by default.
  2. DNS proxy is enabled default as well, causing intermittent registration failures on Polycom phones.

Resolution:

  1. Login to the router.
  2. Go to Security > Rules > Scroll down to the bottom of the page > Do the following:
    1. Enable SIP ALG: Uncheck.
    2. Enable DNS proxy: Uncheck.
      • This option is only needed if you have or plan to purchase Polycom phones.
    • Respond to Ping on Internet Ports: Check.
      • This optional step is needed to allow your firewall to respond to our our Call Quality Monitoring and Troubleshooting server.
    • Click Apply to save.
  3. This step is only needed if you have or plan to purchase Polycom phones:
  4. Go to WAN Setup:
    • There will be WAN1 ISP and WAN2 ISP options there.
    • Detemine which WAN connection your phones are using.
    • Click on WAN1 or WAN2.
    • If you do not know, you will need to contact your IT or a tech-savvy individual who can help you determine this.
      • Scoll down to Domain Name Server (DNS) Address > Set the following:
        • Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
        • Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
        • Click Apply to Save.
