Windows

  1. Perl script should be saved as file with .pl or .cgi extension.
    In Windows environment the association between Perl scripts and their executable is established by mapping .pl and .cgi file extensions.
  2. The Perl script should be placed to directory which has the Allow Execute option enabled in HostPilotĀ® Control Panel > Web/FTP Server > Web Server > Settings and Permissions page, Web Server Settings section.

Note: Perl is not supported on our Windows 2008 plans.

Linux

  1. The first line of Perl script should specify where the executables are:
    #!/usr/bin/perl
  2. Perl script file should have the Execute option checked on HostPilot > Web/FTP Server > Apache Server > Permissions page.
