Known Issues

  1. SIP ALG is enabled by default and must be disabled to prevent intermittent issues with phone registration, call/fax failures and phone feature issues.

Resolution

  1. Telnet to the router and enter the following commands to disable SIP ALG:
    • <enter password>
    • enable
    • <enter password>
    • config t
    • no fixup protocol sip udp
  2. Your configuration may vary. Be sure to set the DHCP DNS server on your network to a set of efficient DNS servers if you are using Polycom devices. Intermedia recommends using Google's public DNS servers:
    • 8.8.8.8
    • 8.8.4.4
