The feature is available for McAfee Email Protection Advanced Plan (and higher).

With McAfee Email Protection users can receive notification messages coming from Postmaster@yourdomain.com with a subject Delivery notification - [original message subject]

Postmaster notification

This notifications can be sent to the email sender or/and email recipient of the message that violated one of the filtering policies. Message will state what policy was violated and what action was applied (quarantine/deny/strip). Notifications are available for Virus, Content, Attachments and Email Authentication policies

In McAfee Control Console administrator can:

To check enabled notifications:

  1. Login to HostPilotĀ® Control Panel and navigate to Services > Email Protection > click Manage
  2. In McAfee Control Console navigate to Email Protection > Policies > Default Inbound > Edit 
  3. Click on Notifications tab > click on Virus/Content/Attachment/Email Authentication tab to view notifications that are enabled

If the notification is active for the specific threat, a green check is shown in the In Use column. The red cross is shown if notification is disabled.

McAfee Notifications

To enable/disable end-user notifications:

  1. Login to HostPilot and navigate to Services > Email Protection > click Manage
  2. In McAfee Control Console navigate to Email Protection > Policies > Default Inbound > Edit 
  3. Click on policy tab (Virus/Content/Attachment/Email Authentication)
  4. Click on Notifications sub-tab
  5. Check/uncheck the boxes
  6. click Save

To edit notifications template:

  1. Login to HostPilot and navigate to Services > Email Protection > click Manage
  2. In McAfee Control Console navigate to Email Protection > Policies > Default Inbound > Edit 
  3. Click on Notifications tab > click on Virus/Content/Attachment/Email Authentication tab to view notifications for this policy
  4. Double-click on notification in the list to modify the template.
