Important: to guarantee service security, we are enforcing high-grade encryption level for sending emails via POP/IMAP mailboxes. SSLv2 and SSLv3 are no longer supported. Verify that your mail clients/mobile devices are using the latest software version and that officially supported version of Operating System is being used. The update is being gradually rolled out on all Intermedia domains.
To add your POP/IMAL mailbox to Windows Mail application:
- Start the app and click Settings > Manage accounts > Add account > Advanced setup > Internet email.
- Fill in the following fields:
User name (same as email address)
Password for your mailbox
Account name (you may choose any name for your account)
Send your messages using this name
Incoming email server (you can find this information in the HostPilot > Services > Mailboxes > POP/IMAP Section > View Instructions button)
Account type (select from the dropdown POP3 or IMAP. We strongly recommend using IMAP protocol)
Outgoing (SMTP) email server (you can find this information in the HostPilot > Services > Mailboxes > POP/IMAP Section > View Instructions button)
Note: You cannot use the server name which can be found in HostPilot > Get Started Here! > Advanced Exchange Settings > Incoming mail (POP/IMAP)
- Make sure to check these boxes:
Outgoing server requires authentication
Use the same user name and password for sending email
Require SSL for incoming email
Require SSL for outgoing email
- Click Sign in
After the Windows Mail account is added, you may modify the settings. To do so, click the new profile under Manage accounts tab, then click Change mailbox sync settings. Click Done to save your changes.
