Business contacts are shared across all Intermedia Unite users on your account. They are synced from your Intermedia account Active Directory and can only be managed by the account Admin.

There are the following types of Business Contacts:

  • Intermedia Unite Users with activated Voice Services
  • Shared Contacts

Intermedia Unite Users with activated Voice Services

Activation of Voice Services occurs when a DID or Phone Number is assigned to the Intermedia Unite User. If this condition is met the Intermedia Unite user could use all Intermedia Unite apps features, such as the chat and calls from Intermedia Unite Apps, and any other Intermedia Unite user on the same account can find them.

Shared Contacts

This type of contacts include:

  • Users that have no services enabled at all or have Cloud PBX enabled, but not activated, which means that phone number is not assigned to this User under Cloud PBX section.

If such Contact has at least 1 phone number added to the User Info, this Contact will be displayed under Contacts list in Intermedia Unite Apps for any Intermedia Unite User on the account and will be available for calls.

Notes:

  • Only Intermedia Unite users with phone number assigned under Cloud PBX are allowed to use Intermedia Unite applications.
  • Intermedia Unite Users could initiate communication with Shared Contacts using Intermedia Unite SMS feature
  • Presence status only displayed for Intermedia Unite users with phone number assigned under Cloud PBX
