Sophos Antivirus provider for file scanning

We change the provider of our antivirus software for scanning SecuriSync files from Bitdefender to Sophos.

This update will not impact our users, files will simply be scanned with a different service. Pricing will not change (antivirus is provided for free) and the user will not be required to complete any steps to migrate to the new antivirus provider nor will there be any interruptions to their service during the automatic migration.

Changes in External Users’ Workflow

With the latest update we stop to create regular user on folder collaboration requests. If external sharing is allowed by account policy and is approved by the admin (or pre-approved via setting) then we create the external user and disregard Email domain.

Win/Mac 3.19

File Server Sync:

  • FSS: Client update does not work on x32 systems via the installer

Windows Desktop:

  • Win: Client update does not work on x32 systems via the installer
  • Win: Repair functionality in installer leads to SecuriSync cannot start (.NET Core migration specific)
  • Streaming Client: Thumbnail does not appear in SecuriSync folder for jpg, png files and folders
  • Win: Crash after uncheck big folder in selective sync
  • Win Office Plugin: The date format in the plugin does not change depending on the PC settings
  • Streaming Client: Virtual folder with content is not deleted sometimes

Mac Desktop App:

  • Sometimes application does not restart after unlink or wipe
  • Mac: Insufficient permissions to Documents leads to client cannot start

June 21, 2021 - SecuriSync update for admins

WebApp 3.18

  • In an effort to ensure administrators only receive valuable notifications, there will no longer be sending the weekly report titled No virus detected. We will continue scanning files for viruses, and will only send out notifications to administrators if a virus has been detected.
  • Audit Log exported to CSV will support new type of client: actions performed with SecuriSync files via Intermedia Unite will be marked with Sync-UCApp type. Actions performed via web browser will still be marked as WebApp.

May 26, 2021 - SecuriSync Desktop Upgrade for outdated (2.56/2.57) clients

2.X SecuriSync Desktop apps start automatically upgrade to the latest version available (version 3.13 for now).

It affects existent active end-user of SecuriSync Desktop apps with appropriate version of OS:

  • Win Desktop App version 2.56 and Windows OS: 8.1 and later
  • FileServerSync App version 2.56 and Windows Server OS: 2012 R2 and later
  • Mac Desktop App version 2.56 and MacOS: High Sierra and later

April 19, 2021 - SecuriSync update

Desktop App 3.13

With 3.13 version of SecuriSync Windows Desktop App we upgrade framework of the application to .Net Core.

It doesn’t affect business functionality. SecuriSync Desktop Apps having version 3.X are automatically upgraded to this version.

March 25, 2021 - SecuriSync Android Update

With this release we increasing minimal supported version to Android 6. Users on previous versions of Android will be able to use the app but will stop receiving updates.


November 9, 2020 - SecuriSync Favorites

WebApp 3.8, Desktop App 3.8

Over the next two weeks, we will be rolling out Favorites in SecuriSync. With this feature, users will be able to mark important files and folders as Favorites in the SecuriSync web app, and they will be able to easily access them from the Favorites menu going forward. Users who have Favorited files and folders will automatically receive notifications via their desktop app and via daily email when collaborators make changes to them. Learn more here.

Please note that Favorites are not synced to mobile devices. This feature will be released separately.
