If you wish, you may also record and upload your own messages to be delivered to the client, by clicking on the Use audio files to play the messages option. Follow the same steps as a text to speech campaign up to selecting your Caller ID for the campaign, and then put a checkmark in the Use audio files to play the messages box; this will now show the places that the files can be uploaded.

Note: If you wish to use the audio file option, you must first save the campaign without making this selection, then go back and edit the campaign and select this option.

Using Voice Recording

You can record an Introduction file and a Content file, but you are not required to have both in your campaign.  If you choose not to have an introduction file, the campaign will just start playing the content file when the call is answered. The option is there if for example, you would like to record an overall introduction to be used across many campaigns, but customize the content to each specific campaign. All messages must be recorded in a .wav format. The following list are the specific .wav formats that are supported:

  • 8 bit 6kHz Linear PCM 48kbps Wave.
  • 8 bit 8kHz Linear PCM 64kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 11Hz Linear PCM 88kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 22Hz Linear PCM 176kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 6kHz MuLaw PCM 48kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 8kHz MuLaw PCM 64kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 11Hz MuLaw PCM 88kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 22Hz MuLaw PCM 176kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 6kHz ALaw PCM 48kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 8kHz ALaw PCM 64kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 11Hz ALaw PCM 88kbps Wave sound file type.
  • 8 bit 22Hz ALaw PCM 176kbps Wave sound file type.

Note: It is important to record your message exactly how you want it to be said, as the voice recording system is not compatible with data driven importing.

When you are ready to upload your recording, click on the icon located to the right of the recording option you want to add content to. You will then be prompted to select your file.

Using Voice Recording

Click Browse to search for your recording. When you have selected the appropriate one, click Upload. You will now be able to see a Play icon and a Delete icon next to the recordings if they have been uploaded successfully.

Using Voice Recording

If you wish to listen to your recording to ensure that it works, you can click on the Play icon. A new window will open with your recording. You can listen to, pause, rewind, etc. the recordings as needed.

Using Voice Recording

If at any time you wish to delete the recording, simply click on the Delete icon located next to the recording. A dialogue box will open prompting you to confirm your deletion of the recording.

Using Voice Recording

Click OK and the file will be deleted.

Note: If you delete your campaign, your voice recording files will also be deleted; also, all voice recording files will be deleted after one year, so if you have campaigns running for longer than that, you will need to re-upload the file(s) after that period of time. It is recommended that you keep a back up of these recordings

When you have finished uploading the audio files you wish to use, continue following the steps for a text to speech campaign to set up the remaining features of the campaign as noted here.
