The following article describes the manual configuration of Polycom OBi250/OBi300/OBi250/OBi450 voice adaptors. It can be utilized in situations where the adaptor needs to be set up as a Resource to work with analog phones.

Note: technically, analog phones are not supported by Intermedia so there is no 100% guarantee they will work with our system.

If you are looking to configure OBi300 as a Fax Resource, refer to the Enhanced BYOP for Obi 300/302 (ATA) article.

Setting Up Resource In HostPilot® Control Panel

Before configuring the adaptor, add it as a device to your account by going to Intermedia Unite > Devices > Setup your own device and selecting Other.. in the dropdown list.

Note: do not select Polycom in the Brand dropdown and OBiX in the Model dropdown. If you do this, HostPilot will treat the device as one for Fax Resource lines.

owndevice

After that, create a Resource line for it as described in the Resources & Utilities: Resource accounts article and assign the device to it.

Polycom OBi250/OBi300/OBi250/OBi450 Web Interface Configuration

Once the device is added to the HostPilot, connect OBi300 to your local network and locate it's IP address. You can use Network scanners from the Common Tools and Downloads article for that purpose. After you locate IP address of the device, access it from your browser and log into the device Web interface with the default credentials (admin/admin).

To edit an item in Web interface, you will need to uncheck Default checkbox near it.

Note: for most items in ITSP and Voice Services sections, the device will instruct you to reboot it after submitting changes so they would take effect. It is not neccessary to reboot after each change, though.
