Windows: Windows 7 and later versions (earlier versions do not support Electron apps), 64-bit (32-bit versions are not supported). Incompatible with Windows Server.

Note: spellcheck feature is not supported on Windows 7.

Note: use of a WiFi connection may not provide the best audio experience as WiFi may be less stable. We recommend a hardwire connection or that you use telephone for best results on a WiFi connection

Installation methods

The application can be installed:


  • Updates are typically released monthly.
  • Updates are delivered to each endpoint automatically.  Admins cannot manage or stop updates.
  • Most updates (except zero-day fixes) are optional first. User has to opt-in to download and update the app:

  • All updates are made mandatory within several weeks of being released as optional. The desktop client updates itself automatically. Intermedia Unite downloads the app behind the scenes and then waits for the computer to be idle before restarting the app and installing the update.


Windows and Mac desktop apps generally do not require admin rights for either the initial install or subsequent updates, as long as they are initially installed for the specific user.

Intermedia Unite Outlook integration (Windows only) requires admin rights. 

We recommend installing the desktop app as a per-user installation without admin rights, and using GP or other remote deployment tools to deploy the Intermedia Unite Outlook plugin integration bits.

If you prefer to install the desktop app using admin rights, we recommend reaching out to our support team to request the stoppage of automatic app updates, because future app updates will fail to complete for all users who don’t have the same admin rights that were used to perform the initial install. In this approach, the administrator would block the automatic in-app updates and would have to periodically update the app for all such users.

Intermedia Unite Outlook Integration

Intermedia Unite Outlook integration enables users to see the Intermedia Unite presence of their colleagues in Outlook, and to click-to-call and click-to-chat using Intermedia Unite from within Outlook.

This integration is typically installed by the admin because it requires admin rights. Read the Knowledge Base articles on Outlook Integration:

Intermedia AnyMeeting Calendar plugin

Intermedia AnyMeeting calendar plugins are available for Hosted Exchange, Microsoft 365 and Google calendars. The plugin enables users to simply and easily schedule meetings within their Outlook or Google Calendars.
