Important: Intermedia Unite integration with Citrix is currently in beta.

To install Intermedia Unite on Citrix, follow the steps below.

Note: Intermedia Unite desktop app is compliant with version 21.x and higher of Citrix workspace.

  1. Install Intermedia Unite desktop app
    • Virtual Apps (XenApp) and Pooled Virtual desktops (XenDesktop)
      • Intermedia Unite Desktop app should be installed by the admin (using admin rights) as a machine-wide installation (Install for anyone who uses this computer)
    • Dedicated Virtual desktops (XenDesktop)
      • Intermedia Unite Desktop app should be installed by the admin (using admin rights) as a per-user installation (Only for me)
  2. Whitelist Unite.exe
3rd party electron applications that utilize CitrixWebRTC SDK are not enabled by default. You need to make the following registry updates to whitelistUnite.exe   for use on Citrix XenApp or XenDesktop
    Key Path: HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Citrix\WebSocketService
    Key Name: Process Whitelist
    Key Type: MULTISZ
    Key Value: intermedia-unite.exe

Once the above registry is configured successfully, restart CtxHdxWebSocketService to finish VDA side setup.

  6. GPs to check: msc
    Audio settings via GPO:

    • Computer Config > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Connection Client > Remote FX from Not Configured to Enabled
    • Computer Config > Admin Templates > Windows Components > App Privacy > Let Windows apps access the microphone from Not Configured to Enabled and Options > Default for all apps
  7. Limitations or Known Issues
    • System do not disturb status doesn’t work.
    • Users cannot run updates on their own. Submit a request to our Support team to stop automatic in-app updates on your account if you are running Citrix. Admins will need to manage app updates on their own.
    • Three way calls are not supported for Citrix.
    • When screen sharing in Meetings in XenApp, screen goes black when shared content is minimized (known technical limitation with Xenapp). The following workarounds can be used:
      • You need to restart screensharing every time the screen goes black
      • On Windows, you can avoid the screenshare going black using one of the following two methods:
        1. Once you enable the screen share, Use Alt-Tab to switch between windows and select the one you’d like to share;
        2. Once you enable the screen share, hit the Windows key. Once the task bar is enabled, pick the window that you’d like to share
      • On Mac, you can avoid the screenshare going black by using enabled task bar to pick the window that you’d like to share‚Äč
